What a representative should actually be

There is a version of this business that consists of forwarding an RFQ to a factory and forwarding the reply back. That version adds a delay and a margin and nothing else.

We work the other way. Before a number goes out we have looked at whether the plant can actually hold the print. When tooling is cut we are in the DFM conversation. When a PPAP stalls we chase it in Mandarin-hours and report in yours. When something escapes, there is a company in New York State that answers for it rather than a contact address in another time zone.

The founder came up through the shop floor - tool and die apprentice, mold making, manufacturing management - before ever selling anything. That background is why the conversation with our plants tends to be about tolerances and tool steel rather than only price.

How we are paid, plainly

On represented lines we are paid a commission by the manufacturer, which is included in the quoted price rather than added to it. On some programs we buy and resell, in which case we are the importer of record and you buy from a US company on US terms. We will tell you which model applies to your part when we quote it.
